Our Beliefs
The doctrinal beliefs of Anchor Baptist Church are firmly rooted in the Holy Bible. Below is a brief synopsis of our core beliefs.
The Bible
We believe that the Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God and the sole authority for life and faith.
God
We believe in one God who exists in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Jesus
We believe that Jesus is the Son of God. He was born of a virgin, wholly God and wholly man, lived a sinless and perfect life, died as a sacrifice for the sins of mankind, was buried, arose bodily from the grave, and ascended into Heaven.
The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts unbelievers of their need for salvation and serves as the Comforter and Guide who indwells every believer.
Man
We believe that mankind was created by God in His image but fell into sin through Adam, resulting in the need for salvation for all.
Salvation
We believe that salvation is a gift of God, received through repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Assurance
We believe that every person who is truly saved is eternally secure in Jesus Christ.
Eternity
We believe that those who die without Christ spend eternity in Hell, while those who have trusted Christ for salvation spend eternity in Heaven.
Baptism
We believe that water baptism by immersion is an act of obedience following salvation, as commanded by Christ.
The Church
We believe the church is a local body of baptized believers, with the Lord Jesus Christ as its Head.
Prayer
We believe that every believer has direct access to God through the Lord Jesus Christ.
Christ’s Return
We believe that Jesus Christ will return to receive all who have trusted Him as Savior. This event, known as the Rapture, will be followed by a seven-year Tribulation Period, culminating in Christ’s Millennial Reign.
